Interestingly, Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi has backed Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to break the record of late Nigerian star Rashidi Yekini who was superb during his active playing time.
Rashidi Yekini was one of the brilliant strikers in the world considering the number of goals he scored during his playing time in the national team and all the clubs he played for.
He was also the first Nigerian player to score in a World Cup game when the West African nation appeared at the 1994 edition in the United States.
Between 1984 to 1998, Rashidi Yekini scored 37 goals for the Super Eagles in 58 games and the record has not been broken since he died eight years ago.
However, Victor Osimhen a 21-year-old player and has played nine games for the Super Eagles scoring four goals since 2017.
According to report, Daniel Amokachi who played with Rashidi Yekini in the Super Eagles is of the belief that Osimhen can break the record of the deceased.
